Abstract/Summary
Surgical simulators have been developed in surgical subspecialties such as ophthalmology, otolaryngologic, and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery. They have been shown to be objective surgical skill assessment tools. The Eyesi (VR Magic, Mannheim, Germany) surgical simulator (Fig 1, available at http://aaojournal.org) was designed to simulate intraocular surgery in a virtual environment. It has the potential to assess modifiable aspects of tremor, a major concern for microsurgeons.
