VRmagic introduces a compact, programmable intelligent camera
The new intelligent component from VRmagic is a high-performance camera featuring a combination of ARM processor and DSP. Deployed is the DaVinci processor by Texas Instruments. The camera operates autonomously with a Linux operating system. Developers can transfer their own algorithms to the DSP conveniently by means of a cross-compiler. The component is equipped with 128 MB RAM and a 512 MB flash module. An FPGA-Chip for preprocessing of image data can optionally be integrated. The supported interfaces include Ethernet, USB 2.0 Host and General Purpose I/O, as well as optionally CAN Bus and PROFIBUS. The board size of the component, which is only 42 x 38 x 33 mm, makes it particularly interesting for OEM applications. The camera is available with several CMOS sensors, in monochrome or colour, with rolling or global shutter and resolutions from VGA to three megapixels. Framerates are ranging from 13 to 132 frames per second.
