New Module for Irrigation & Aspiration training

The new Eyesi software module for training of I&A techniques offers a complex and realistic cortical tissue modeling and appropriate aspiration settings in the Eyesi phaco interface.

Trainees learn how to move the aspiration probe properly during cortex stripping. They also experience and master the safe occlusion of cortical tissue which is adherent to the posterior capsule. Physics based fluidics require trainees to control both the irrigation for chamber stability and the aspiration level for a safe removal of cortical remnants.

Potential exists for complications such as a tear in posterior bag or damage to zonular muscles in case the I&A probe is not manipulated properly or in case the settings in the phaco interface are inappropriate (upper video). Likewise the removal of challenging sub-incisional cortex may be practiced till proficiency is achieved.

Users can choose from bimanual or coaxial I&A.
